BIBA hosts media briefing in London
a briefing for financial media in the UK, the association said.
The association will use the briefing to update UK media on developments in Bermuda, BIBA executive director Wendy Davis Johnson said.
Participating in the briefing are Premier David Saul, BIBA chairman Tom Davis, Appleby, Spurling & Kempe managing partner and secretary general of the International Bar Association Dianna Kempe and Bermuda Land Development Company (BLDC) chairman Vince Ingham.
"The development of the former military bases is a significant part of what makes Bermuda competitive,'' Mrs. Davis Johnson said.
The opportunities that development represents for the international business industry is believed a topic of interest among UK reporters attending the briefing, she said.
"Media relations is a key component of the overseas marketing programme.
"We feel that in order for Bermuda to receive accurate coverage, we need to stay in touch with reporters and let them know what is happening in Bermuda on a regular basis,'' she said.
BIBA will organise a similar briefing for US financial media in New York in March.
