BSX advances 3.7%
Bermuda stocks gained for a second straight week, as KeyTech Ltd. and Bermuda Aviation Services Ltd. (BAS) recorded significant surges in their share value.
The Royal Gazette / Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) Index gained 78.32 points (3.72 percent) to close on Friday at 2,102.76.
BAS gained 90 cents (18 percent) to $5.90 on the trading of 3,000 shares.
KeyTech, the owner of the Bermuda Telephone Company, also made huge advances, gaining $1.45 (17.1 percent) to close the week on $9.95 as 5,700 shares changed hands.
Power company Belco Holdings also surged, gaining $1.25 (8.2 percent) to $16.50, on the trading of 2,318 shares.
Another winner last week was insurer and pension provider Argus Group Holdings Ltd., which gained 20 cents (three percent) to close on $6.90, as 5,500 shares traded. Argus has fallen 29 percent for the year.
Fellow insurer BF&M Ltd. also made a slight gain, climbing five cents (0.4 percent) to close the week on $14.05.
Butterfield Bank remained rooted on $4 in brisk trading as 99,161 shares changed hands.
LOM Holdings Ltd. was also unchanged at $3.75, as 6,300 of its shares traded.
Volume was 123,515 and turnover was $587,482.
