Butterfield Bank was the only domestic issuer to trade on the Bermuda Stock Exchange yesterday.

The bank remained unchanged on $5 after 24,048 shares changed hands.

The Royal Gazette / BSX Index was also unchanged on 2,287.92. Turnover was $120,242.

August, though a quiet month for trading, was a positive month for local stocks, as the index rose almost 1.5 percent. But it is still down 32.5 percent this year to date.

The BSX Insurance Index followed its consistent trend of recent days, rising by 6.59 points (0.71 percent) to 929.84.
