Manager-International to Assistant General Manager-Retail Banking at the Bank of Butterfield.

Mr. Emery has assumed responsibility for the retail banking department, including all aspects of branch banking activities.

He joined the Bank in 1967 and has gained extensive knowldege and experience in Systems, operations, Administration and International Operations.

Mr. Donald Brownlow has been appointed Senior Manager-Information Systems at the Bank.

Mr. Brownlow joined the Bank of Butterfield in 1976 and has been Manager of Information Systems since 1987.

He has been heavily involved in implementing the Bank's ongoing programme of computer systems enhancement.

Miss Shawnette Symonds has joined Harnett and Richardson insurers as a management trainee.

Miss Symonds, 24, the first recipient of the Bank of Bermuda's Sidney Pine insurance scholarsip a few years ago, has completed her bachelor of Business Administration degree, with a major in insurance, in canada. The Bank of Bermuda's award was worth $10,000 per annum, which Miss Symonds siad paid for three-quarters of all her tuition fees and lodging expenses.
