Businesses to get chance to size up Southside site
possible at Southside -- the former US naval base in St. David's.
The Bermuda Land Development Company is to tap into the large business market which sees more than 100,000 guests come to the Island each year for work rather than play.
A three-and-a-half-minute promotional clip has been produced for the International Business Channel -- a closed circuit TV station which broadcasts around the clock to more than 70 percent of hotel rooms here.
A statement from the BLDC said more than 90 percent of hotel guests who have access to the channel tune into it at some stage of their visit.
Buildings for e-commerce, data storage and back-office functions as well as industrial land, warehousing and Ships Wharf feature in the film which targets both local and international businesses.
The lease rates available at Southside -- which are much lower than in town -- and the BLDC's willingness to "do what it takes'' to help set up business are also explored in the advertisement.
"Broadcasting on the channel 24-hours-a-day for the next year gives us an opportunity to create awareness among the tens of thousands of business people who visit Bermuda,'' the BLDC's Don Grearson said.
"Surveys indicate that these people tune in the Bermuda Channel an average of three times during their visit here.
"This is a relatively inexpensive way to reach a variety of business leaders.''
