Butterfield Bank's Wiggan lands Barbados posting
Butterfield Bank has appointed Lloyd Wiggan as the new managing director of Butterfield Bank (Barbados) Ltd.
Mr. Wiggan previously held the position of senior vice-president of retail banking at the bank's head office in Bermuda.
Alan Thompson, president and CEO of Butterfield Bank, said: "We welcome an international career banker with 35-plus years of experience to the position of managing director in Barbados."
Mr. Wiggan spent more than 20 years at Citicorp, where he held a number of senior positions, including vice-president and senior country operations officer for its Jamaica operations.
He also worked as a consultant with Scotiabank and with the Government of Jamaica, co-ordinating the merger of several distressed financial entities.
He is a former chairman of the Bermuda International Business Association and member of Bermuda's Tax Appeal Tribunal Panel.
