Butterfield client scoops MLB tickets

Butterfield Bank and MasterCard have announced the winner of their joint Major League Baseball (MLB) promotion.

Bank customer and MasterCard credit card user, Emily Munro-Russell won two tickets to the MLB All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium in New York City on Tuesday.

Ms Munro-Russell was surprised and excited when told she had won the tickets plus a prize package including round-trip airfare, hotel accommodation, ground transportation, meals and priceless experiences - all courtesy of MasterCard.

"I have never won anything," she said. "I would like to thank Butterfield Bank for providing me with this exciting opportunity to see an All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium," Ms. Munro-Russell said.

Ms Munro-Russell's name was chosen at random from the draw on June 20.

l Butterfield Bank has been named the 'Best Bank in Bermuda' by top financial publication Euromoney for the third year in a row. The award follows an announcement by Euromoney in January won the awards for 'Best Local Bank in the Caribbean' and 'Best Local Private Bank in Bermuda'.

In February it picked up the accolade for 'Best Developed Market Bank in Bermuda' for 2008 by Global Finance magazine.

Alan Thompson, Butterfield Bank's president and CEO, said: "It is a great honour to win a third consecutive Best Bank in Bermuda Award from Euromoney magazine, particularly during our Sesquicentennial Year."
