Capital G honours charities

Capital G honoured the recipients of its 2008 Charitable Donations programme at the first ever "Giving Back Reception" held at the Newstead Belmont Hills Golf Resort & Spa in Paget last week.

James Gibbons, chairman of Capital G Bank, and John Kephart, CEO of Capital G Bank and Capital G Trust, Joel Schaefer, CEO of Capital G Investments, and senior executives of Capital G Bank, welcomed the executive directors and representatives of the attending charitable organisations to the event which it hosted last Wednesday.

"Our intention in hosting the reception is that we should get to know the people who work so hard to make a difference in the community - and introduce ourselves to them - with the aim of developing our relationship and building a partnership that makes a difference," Mr. Gibbons said.

Capital G supports education, health care, and youth programmes, as well as seniors and sports groups that contribute to the well-being of the community.

"We have evolved our giving back programme and while it may not be millions of dollars, we have more than doubled our donations in 2008 and we hope as we grow as an independently-held bank to also grow our Giving Back initiative," said Mr. Gibbons.
