Butterfield Bank customers will now be able to use their debit cards to top up CellularOne cell phone accounts via ATMs.

CellularOne jointly announced yesterday that they are now offering the Bank's iTopUp service to their customers.

Butterfield Bank introduced iTopUp services in 2006 and says it is the only Bank to offer a cell phone top up service through its network of ATMs.

Derrick Smith, AVP of electronic banking at Butterfield Bank said: "We are delighted to partner with CellularOne to offer our mutual customers a more convenient way to add credit to their prepaid cellular service."

Diana Winfield, CellularOne's retail and marketing manager, added: "We already had over 80 'top it up' locations Island-wide and now our customers can top up their phones at any time 24/7."

To use the service Butterfield Bank customers insert their Butterfield card debit card into any Butterfield Direct ATM and follow the instructions displayed on the screen to instantly top up their account. The service is free of charge. The CellularOne iTop Up recharge number is printed on the ATM receipt.
