Computer expert joins Paragon
Mr. Cooke will provide training and consulting in information technology security, business resumption planning, and threat risk assessment.
"Information security is critical in this era of Internet communications, particularly for information-sensitive businesses in Bermuda,'' Mr. Cooke stated in a Press release. "Vulnerability to Y2K issues, computer crackers, viruses, availability attacks and other threats can be counteracted with the right technology and security safeguards. I help businesses identify their security weaknesses, and implement solutions.'' Mr. Cooke has about 28 years of computer experience in the intelligence, defence, telephone, health and financial sectors and is a regular speaker at industry conferences.
He has worked with the Canadian Communications Security Establishment, the Canadian Department of Defence, Empire Financial Group, Investware, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and the South African Independent Electoral Commission.
As part of his duties Mr. Cooke will be holding workshops on security. The first will be about security on Windows NT to be held February 26.
