The amount of Bermuda dollar notes and coins in circulation over the Cup Match holiday weekend will be higher than last year, despite the continued recession and lay-offs.
A total of $141.3 million will be on release during this period, up 2.9 percent from $137.2 million in 2009.
But the value of notes and coins issued to the banks by the Bermuda Monetary Authority between July 1 and July 28 (the traditional pre-Cup Match period) was down 21.5 percent at $7.3 million from the $9.3 million amount issued in Cup Match 2009.
