Bermudians going overseas for medical assistance should now find it easier to contact their international case managers.

CMN, an international health-management company that provides overseas emergency medical assistance service to over 20,000 Bermudians, opened a new office outside Toronto which features state-of-the-art IT platforms that enable better services for clients.

The new location's enhanced IT platform will ensure CMN's emergency call centre, staffed by live operators 24 hours a day, seven days a week, does not have to deal with dropped calls or loss of information when a customer calls in an emergency.

CMN assists policy holders by coordinating all overseas medical care. This includes family travel and accommodation arrangements, as well as liaising with hospitals and physicians abroad. The new office, located in Thornhill, Ontario, coordinates overseas emergency medical care for Argus, British American and the Government Employee Health Insurance Plan, as well as for LCCA patients. The company is a division of Europe Assistance, which has a presence in 208 countries across five continents at its clients' disposal. Argus Group chief executive officer Gerald Simons cut the ribbon at an official opening ceremony on Monday.
