Kendaree keeping hospitals in touch
Burgess-Fairn to the position of Communications Specialist.
Ms Burgess-Fairn, who is president of Keep Bermuda Beautiful, will be responsible for developing and implementing a communication strategy for both King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and St. Brendan's Hospital.
All open houses, public presentations and press releases will be coordinated through her department and she will also be responsible for providing information to the public.
Ms Burgess-Fairn will continue her part-time work with KBB until her term ends in February 1996.
GUN, KNIVES FOUND ON MEN Gun, knives found on men Two men, aged 22 and 23, were arrested in Pembroke after a violent struggle with Police.
Police spokesman P.c. Gary Venning said officers were searching the men on Rosemont Avenue on Monday night when they found they were both in possession of knives. One of the men also had a gun.
P.c. Venning said a struggle ensued and extra Police officers were called to the scene. The men were eventually arrested.
Police also thanked a member of the public who assisted them.
PREMIER READY TO ANSWER QUESTIONS PTL Premier ready to answer questions The public will have the chance to raise questions and concerns with Premier David Saul and two of his Cabinet Ministers at a meeting in St. George's next Wednesday.
The meeting will take place at the Town Hall at 8 p.m.
Dr. Saul will be accompanied by Works and Engineering Minister Leonard Gibbons and Transport and Aviation Services Minister Mr. Wayne Furbert.
ROOF-TP CAHSE ENDS IN ARREST CRM Roof-top chase ends in arrest A roof-top chase ended with the arrest of a 28-year-old St. George's man, Police reported yesterday.
P.c. Gary Venning said officers attempted to search two men suspected of possessing drugs on York Street in St. George's at around 6 p.m. on Monday.
The men ran off and one of them climbed on to the roof of a Water Street building. One of the officers was punched and kicked when he tried to detain the man on the roof.
Eventually the man came down from the roof and was arrested.
BABY CLINIC TO GET NEW HOME HTH Baby clinic to get new home Crawl Hill's baby clinic will be moving to a new location.
A Health Department spokesman said the clinic, whose duties include advising and counselling new mothers and monitoring newborns, will move from the Gospel Hall to the old Shelly Bay Beach House.
The Development Applications Board approved an application from the Ministry of Works and Engineering to change the lower apartment in the old Shelly Bay Beach House to a baby clinic.
Works and Engineering Minister the Hon. Leonard Gibbons said the apartment had not been used for some time.
WOMAN RETURNS TO FIND PROWLER CRM Woman returns to find prowler A Pembroke woman returned to her home on North Shore Road this week to discover a male stranger walking out of her house.
The incident occurred at around 12.15 p.m. on Monday. Police were called, and, after a search of the area, a 27-year-old suspect was arrested near Blackwatch Pass.
