Bermuda-based Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd. has appointed Lauren Kent as senior underwriting manager and head of reinsurance for Endurance Worldwide Insurance Ltd. in London.

Ms Kent has 18 years of industry experience including five years with Endurance, where she has been a casualty treaty underwriter in both the US and London offices, contributing to the expansion of Endurance's specialty reinsurance portfolios.

She held roles in claims management at NAC Re and Aetna, prior to joining ERC in 1997. At ERC, she held several positions in both claims management and treaty underwriting, and was appointed vice-president of treaty underwriting in 2001.

Ms Kent joined Endurance in 2003 as vice-president of treaty underwriting in New York, transferring to Endurance Worldwide Insurance Ltd. in London in 2006.

William Jewett, CEO of Endurance Worldwide Reinsurance, said he was pleased with Ms Kent's "expanded role".
