LOM makes three appointments
The LOM Group has announced a series of staff moves to develop the firm's operational capacity and financial adviser platforms.
Jens Maitland has joined the client relationship team and will be responsible for the company's savings and retirement plans, as well as its captive management initiative. He will focus on generating new clients while servicing existing relationships, with a team of two other advisors.
Mr. Maitland, who is a Bermudian, gained sales experience while at Burrows Lightbourn, Bacardi International, and the Tucker's Point Club.
Meanwhile Zina Paynter has been promoted to head of operations. She had been with LOM for 12 years, working in several departments, prior to taking on this senior role.
As manager, Ms Paynter will be responsible for overseeing the operations functions supporting global settlements and portfolio accounting and physical vault services.
Latusha Rogers has also returned to LOM as deputy manager of operations. She previously worked in LOM operations for four years, before joining Argus Financial, where she has been for the past two years.
The trio will replace expatriate workers who are leaving Bermuda after a number of years of service within the firm.
LOM president Scott Lines said: "As a Bermuda-owned and managed company these promotions represent LOM's conscious desire to train and promote talented and hard-working Bermudians as we grow."
In addition, Frederic Gagne has joined the company's IT department in a senior programming position, having worked for six years at NatCan (the investment arm of National Bank of Canada). He will be assist with the full life-cycle development of LOM specific applications and solutions in his assignment with the firm.
"These new appointments continue to add depth to our team," said Mr. Lines, "We feel that while the economic conditions are still fragile, it is important to prepare and plan for the future as normalcy returns to the financial markets."
