Minister Minors steps up business meetings with tour of the BSX

New Business Development and Tourism Minister Patrice Minors took a tour of the Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) on Wednesday as she continued her round of meetings with business leaders this week.

Meeting with BSX president and CEO Greg Wojciechowski, she talked about Bermuda's regulatory and operational infrastructure, as well as the day-to-day running of the Exchange and the upcoming Americas' Central Securities Depositories Association's (ACSDA) General Assembly Conference in March 2011

Minister Minors also met with US Consul General Grace Shelton and reflected on the relationship between Bermuda and the US.

Ms Minors said: "Nothing is more important to the Ministry than promoting increased economic and diplomatic ties between Bermuda and its many partners.

"So these were very important meetings which served to not only familiarise the US Consul General and Mr Wojciechowski to a new Minister and Ministry, but it was also an opportunity to underscore our Ministry's message of growing Bermuda's business base both locally and overseas."

Since her new appointment, Minister Minors has met with the Bermuda Hotel Association (BHA) Executive, the director of the Bermuda Hospitality Institute, Karla Lacey, Bermuda Business CEO Cheryl Packwood, and Robert Land, CEO of JetBlue Airlines.
