LONDON (AP) British utility company National Grid says it has agreed to sell its gas and electricity distribution businesses in the US state of New Hampshire for $285 million.

The company said yesterday that Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. will buy the Granite State Electric and EnergyNorth businesses in New Hampshire.

The sale is subject to regulatory approval.
