Ships make emergency stopovers: Docksiders

On Saturday, the US-registered tanker Sea Princess , which was sailing from Gibraltar, called in at Five Fathom Island, to drop off a 53-year-old man who had fallen ill.
The ship continued on its journey to the Bahamas the same day after arranging for the man to be taken to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
And on Sunday, the US-registered Teko Trader , sailing from Lake Charles, Louisiana, called in at Five Fathom Island on Sunday to drop off a 32-year-old man who was sick.
No details are available about the man's condition. The ship continued on its journey the same day to Thessaloniki in Greece.
Last Wednesday saw the arrival of the cable ship Global Mariner , from Baltimore, which loaded cable. She set sail for Baltimore yesterday.
The cruise ship Europa called in at Hamilton from the Azores on Thursday for an overnight stop before continuing its journey to New York.
Thursday also saw the arrival of the container ship Bermuda Islander from Salem, New Jersey, with a cargo of 128 containers, including 17 which were refrigerated. It returned to Salem the following day.
Fresnel , a French registered France Telecom ship, sailed from Dockyard on Thursday after unloading cables. The ship had arrived from New York on November 9.
The cargo ship Queen Ace from Port-Au-Prince in Haiti docked in Hamilton last Thursday with a consignment of cars, and left for Freeport, Bahamas, on Friday.
The USS Ramage arrived at Five Fathom Hole on Friday for an overnight stop to collect civilians before setting sail on Saturday.
A regular visitor to Bermuda, the Oleander arrived in Hamilton on Sunday from Port Elizabeth, New Jersey, and returned the following day.

The Liberian-registered bulk carrier Ellie , sailing from Santos in Brazil to Toronto, called in at Murray's Anchorage, St. George's on Monday for repairs and is scheduled to leave today.
The Canadian Forces Advisory vessel Endeavour stopped at St. George's yesterday from Halifax, Nova Scotia, for rest and recreation. No date has been given for its return to Halifax.
