Arch Capital Group Ltd., the Bermuda-based reinsurer, may be upgraded by Standard & Poor's after adding customers at profitable rates.

The outlook was changed to "positive" from "stable", on "better-than-peer-average operating results as well as its success in building a large and well-diversified franchise by product, client, and distribution source", the ratings firm said in a statement yesterday.
