Former HWP employee Tom Nelmes has been named as the new chief operating officer of Bermuda Export Sea Transfer Ltd. (BEST Shipping).

Mr. Nelmes will start in the role on December 1.

BEST Shipping chief executive officer David Sousa said: “It is indeed with great pleasure that we welcome Tom to our BEST team. Tom brings a great deal of experience in the procurement business to BEST. Together with Judy and me, we all look forward to serving our customers for many years to come.”

Prior to joining BEST Mr. Nelmes was with HWP Group where he ran the major appliance division ‘HomeZone’ for almost 10 years with responsibility of all facets of the business, from selecting and ordering the merchandise to ensuring safe delivery to Bermuda and to the customers’ homes.

Mr. Sousa continued: “We have continually strived to grow our business and improve the services we provide to our customers and the hiring of Tom as our new COO, is part of our continued growth and demonstration of our commitment to making sure we provide the highest level of service to our valued customers.

“Working alongside both Judy and me, Tom will assume responsibility for business development as well as other major daily operations.”
