Bank boosts BSX

Banking and insurance were the two big success stories on The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) yesterday.
Butterfield Bank boosted its share price by 50 cents (3.22 percent) to finish on $16, as 6,575 shares changed hands.
A total of 500 shares were traded with BF&M Ltd.'s share value climbing 50 cents (2.56 percent) to $20.
But KeyTech Ltd. fell five cents (0.35 percent) to $14, with 1,400 shares being transacted.
The Index as whole, though, was up 93.43 points (two percent) at 4,775.36, as 8,475 shares worth $134,730.25 traded.
The BSX Insurance Index, meanwhile, inched up 3.36 percent to 967.62.
