The Bank of Bermuda HSBC is warning customers to be vigilant following the latest online scam in the form of a fraudulent email trying to obtain their account details,.

The email warns the client that their bank Internet access has been temporarily suspended, claiming it has noticed multiple unsuccessful logon attempts with someone else trying to access their account, and asking them to verify and restore their online banking profile immediately.

A spokeswoman for the Bank of Bermuda said: "We are aware of these phishing attacks as they occur. Customers are readily reporting the emails as they receive them and we are making every effort to address the issue."
