Bermudian Rowntree is promoted at Guy Carpenter

Jenni Rowntree: Guy Carpenter's senior vice-president of Treaty Broking.

Bermudian Jenni Rowntree has been promoted by reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter & Company to the position of senior vice-president of Treaty Broking.

In her new role Ms Rowntree will be responsible for designing and placing treaty reinsurance solutions for local and global clients, prospecting for new clients, providing local intelligence to Guy Carpenter offices worldwide regarding the Bermuda market, acting as officer for professional standards and compliance and assisting in the management of the Bermuda office.

She will continue to report to Kevin Fisher, head of office for Guy Carpenter in Bermuda and chairman of Global Specialties.

Ms Rowntree joined the firm, which is part of the Marsh & McLennan Companies, in July 2002 as a risk analyst. Within a short time she moved into the role of associate vice-president and was subsequently promoted to vice-president. In November 2003, she was seconded to the Guy Carpenter London office.

Prior to joining Guy Carpenter, Ms Rowntree worked for Overseas Partners Re and IPC Re. Ms Rowntree gained her Associates in Reinsurance designation in December 2002.

"I am pleased to be announcing Jenni's promotion today, and I am confident she will continue to excel in her role and embrace her new responsibilities with enthusiasm and skill."

Ms Rowntree graduated cum laude from the AB Freeman School of Business at Tulane University with a Bachelor of Science in Management.

She attended The Taft School and The Bermuda High School for Girls. She has also participated in a number of industry training programmes and seminars.
