Butterfield Bank proved to be the busiest company on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) yesterday.

The bank traded 2,889 common shares, which rose five cents to close the day at $5.05, while it also saw 108 preference shares worth $250 each change hands.

The Index, as a whole, finished up 8.74 points (0.38 percent) at 2,305.79, as 2,889 shares worth BD$14,411.65 and 108 shares worth US$135,000 were transacted.

The BSX Insurance Index increased by 6.59 points (0.71 percent) to 929.84.
