BSX's rollercoaster
It was a day of ups and downs on The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) yesterday, with no fewer than five companies seeing their share prices rise or fall.
Leading the way was Bermuda Aviation Services Ltd., which increased its share value by 45 cents (8.1 percent) to close at $6, with 17,100 shares traded.
But BF&M Ltd. dropped $1.25 (6.02 percent) to finish on $19.50, as 5,100 shares changed hands throughout the course of the day.
MediaHouse Ltd. took a 75-cent (10.34 percent) hit, while Butterfield Bank was down 50 cents (3.12 percent), and KeyTech Ltd. dwindled 45 cents (3.1 percent).
Other traders included Belco Holdings Ltd. (200 shares), Watlington Waterworks Ltd. (86), Stevedoring Services Ltd. (50) and Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd. (21), but all of their share prices held firm.
Overall, the Index declined 112.72 points (2.35 percent) to 4,681.93, with 54,668 shares worth $710,743.50 transacted.
The BSX Insurance Index was also down 2.08 percent at 931.15.
