Appleby becomes an LLC
Appleby’s legal practice in Bermuda has become a Limited Liability Company (LLC), the firm announced yesterdayFrom today, the Appleby legal practices currently carried on by partnerships in Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Isle of Man and Zurich will be transferred to LLCs. Appleby’s fiduciary business remains unchanged.This follows a number of other Bermuda law firms who have become LLCs in recent months, including Conyers, Dill & Pearman and Cox Hallett Wilkinson.Office managing partner Shaun Morris, said: “It is now common practice for law firms to convert to a limited liability partnership or LLC. The international nature and size of our business makes adopting this type of corporate structure, where we can, more practical.“This new structure will not have any impact on our business operations and the delivery of our legal services. We remain committed to providing client services that are fully integrated and consistent across all the jurisdictions in which we operate.”
