HSBC is urging expatriates in Bermuda to take part in its annual Expat Explorer Survey.The survey, now in its fifth year, is commissioned by HSBC Expat, an offshore financial services provider, focused on expatriate workers. It is the largest global expat survey of its kind.Last year, HSBC surveyed nearly 3,400 expatriates from more than 100 different countries around the world to see what they had to say about living and working overseas.Bermuda was not included in the 2011 results because not enough people participated in the survey, so HSBC hopes more will participate from Bermuda this year.Questions cover a variety of topics including quality of life, salary and benefits and what it’s like to raise children abroad.“We’ve listened to feedback from the community and we are committed to ensuring that the findings are topical and relevant. 2012 should be an interesting year and we want its story to be told by expats across the globe,” said Dean Blackburn, head of HSBC Expat. “This year, we’ll be focusing on new, emerging and important issues which matter and asking expats how they’ve fared after the global economic turmoil.”Bermuda ranked fourth on the list of top places to live as an expat in the 2010 survey — tying with United Arab Emirates and Singapore.Last year’s survey ranked Thailand as the country with the best quality of life for expats.
