Business Bermuda to pre-networking event seminars

Useful contacts: The 2010 CSNE

For the past 13 years Business Bermuda has hosted the Annual College Student Networking Event (CSNE) with last year being the largest to date, boasting more than 600 participants. This year Business Bermuda has announced a major change to the event — changing it to a series of evening seminars. The 2012 College Student Networking Evenings aims to give students the tools needed to successfully navigate the complicated world of professional networking. The evenings are a series of preparatory seminars running throughout July culminating in an exclusive networking reception in August. Each seminar will provide the opportunity for all students aged 18 to 25 to build a base of skills necessary to hold their own at a professional networking event. Traditionally, the CSNE has provided students with the opportunity to spend a short amount of time with each professional. This year, students and professionals will have an extended amount of time to network and establish meaningful relationships.Professionals also benefit from the event as a rare chance to assess Bermuda’s future workforce.Seminars, which will be held at the Argus Building on Wesley Street, include: resume writing, interview techniques and networking skills. The invitation-only networking reception will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2012.Cheryl Packwood, CEO of Business Bermuda, said: “This year we want students to walk away from the event with in-depth understanding and networking experience. By preparing students through a series of seminars before the event and creating an intimate networking reception, we hope to provide a foundation followed up by real-life networking experience.“C-suite executives, managing directors, and other hiring managers will be in attendance to give students personal advice on building the right type of network to achieve their professional goals. Students who attend at least two seminars immediately receive an invitation to this exclusive reception. We expect this new format to be a great success.”For more information and to register for the seminars, visit www.csne.bm, e-mail csne@businessbermuda.org, or call 292-0632.
