Cash and Stapley join BCB board
Veteran businessman David Cash has become a director of Bermuda Commercial Bank (BCB), it was revealed yesterday.
Mr Cash, the former CEO of insurance and reinsurance firm Endurance Special Holdings, is one of two new faces on the bank’s board of directors.
Accountant Derek Stapley will join Mr Cash as a director.
BCB interim board Chairman Alan Gilbertson said: “They are highly educated, deeply experienced and hugely capable businessmen.
“They will make important contributions to the BCB board of directors during an exciting and promising time for the bank.”
Mr Cash, an Oxford University graduate and former Rhodes scholar, worked for Endurance in a variety of roles from 2001 to 2013. He joined the board of directors of Business Bermuda in 2009 and became chairman in 2011.
He was also a founding member of the board of directors of the Bermuda Business Development Agency (BDA) and is currently deputy chairman.
Mr Stapley is a director of the BDA and previously worked at financial services firm Ernst & Young for 20 years, leaving in 2009 having worked in the global asset management group, specialising in alternative investments, where he chaired the global hedge fund steering committee.
