Coral Beach and Tennis Club is to hold a job fair next week as it seeks 30 new staff members. Some of the positions are seasonal, but most are full time.

The private club is asking prospective employees to come along next Wednesday, March 25, and to be prepared to be interviewed on the spot.

“We thought it would be a great idea to host a job fair and invite prospective employees to come, have a look at the club and submit applications. As Coral Beach is a private club many persons are not familiar with the property and this seemed a good opportunity to profile our beautiful property,” said general manager Nik Bhola.

The South Shore club is back on course after briefly going into receivership in 2013 before being bought later that year by New York-based boutique hotel investment company Three Wall Capital.

“We had a great year in 2014, which was the first full year under the new management company,” said Mr Bhola.

“We are looking to 2015 and into 2016 and 2017. We are very optimistic and see business growing.

“We want to invest in our workforce to have them well trained for this year and the years to come.”

The club is increasing the size of its staff, with more personnel needed for the tennis court areas, including the shop and bar, and to help the facility enhance its beach experience.

It is also taking over the running of the retail spaces at the property, which were previously leased out.

“Some positions are seasonal like the beach and retail attendants, but most are full time,” said Mr Bhola.

The job fair will be held in the club’s Beach Terrace Restaurant from 4pm until 8pm. Potential employees should bring their resume and two references.

“We want people to come prepared to impress us, to dress appropriately, be articulate and have their resumes. We will conduct brief interviews on the day,” said Mr Bhola.

Follow-up interviews will be held with the most promising perspective employees.

“Some of these positions will be available immediately, and some will start at the end of April and in May.”

On the day of the job fair the club will have managers and staff available to guide people through the property.

“We are hopeful that we can find young Bermudians to join our teams and get them in place and well trained,” said Mr Bhola.

“We encourage anyone who has a passion for service to come by and meet our team. We have reached out to our partners at the BHI, the Department of Workforce Development and the media to make sure we get the word out.”

Anyone who is unable to attend the job fair should e-mail their resume to: Mdavies@coralbeach.bm.
