Bermuda law firm Appleby was legal adviser in Bermuda and the Caymans for Fosun International’s buyout of the remaining 80 per cent of Island-based insurer Ironshore.

The merger transaction closed last month and Ironshore is now an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of the Chinese company.

Appleby Bermuda partner Alan Bossin and associates Janine Carey and Sarita Ebbin worked on the Bermuda side of the deal.

Shanghai-based Fosun had bought 20 per cent of Ironshore in February this year.
