Bermudian lawyer Duncan Card has been recognised as a top ranking specialist in telecoms, media and technology by a prestigious listing.

Mr Card — the only Bermudian lawyer included — was singled out by the international Who’s Who Legal as a world leader in the field.

Mr Card, the managing principal of Bennett Jones, said: “Bermuda is among the leading telecom and technology legal jurisdictions in the world and we are attracting international investment and business operations in those sectors to Bermuda.

“Our jurisdiction has all of the attributes that those demanding sectors require to conduct business in and from Bermuda, covering all professional public policy and infrastructure requirements.”

Mr Card is due to be co-chairman of the Association of Caribbean Corporate Counsel annual law conference, to be held in Miami in September.

He will also speak at the conference on the topic of negotiating and managing large commercial transactions.
