A senior lawyer at Appleby has made the shortlist for the prestige Powerwoman Awards.

Vanessa Schrum, partner and group head of the firm’s private client and trusts practice, has been nominated for the woman of the year award in the leadership professional services category.

She is the only lawyer in Bermuda nominated in any category of the awards, which are sponsored by business magazine Citywealth.

Ms Schrum said: “I am honoured to be nominated again for the Powerwoman award and be among such highly-regarded trust professionals.

“These awards are a testament to the success that women are achieving in leadership roles globally.”

The Powerwoman awards are designed to highlight individuals and companies who maximise the potential of women in the wealth business.
