John Whiley has been appointed chief compliance officer of Markel Catco Investment Management Ltd.

In a statement, the company said Mr Whiley, who was previously involved in supporting, as a service provider, the launch of more than 40 per cent of Bermuda’s ILS funds, has extensive experience in reinsurance fund/ILS SPV structuring work as well as advising on fund operational control matters.

“Additionally, John has extensive experience in advising clients on AML related matters helping to ensure that they were fully compliant with Bermuda’s anti-money laundering regulations and was responsible for leading Prime Administration’s service solutions including AIFMD and FATCA services,” said the statement.

Mr Whiley will be located in Bermuda at the offices of Markel Catco Investment Management.
