KPMG promotes Govender to director
Professional-services firm KPMG has named Felicia Govender as a new director in the Bermuda enterprise team.
Steve Woodward, head of enterprise for KPMG Bermuda, said: “Felicia brings a wealth of experience, industry knowledge and expertise to our leadership team.
“She has built trusted relationships with her clients, something that is at the core of our business and reputation as trusted advisers to local businesses.
“It’s great to have her on board as a director and we are looking forward to expanding the range of services we offer to local and family-owned businesses outside of our core audit offering.”
Ms Govender joined KPMG’s investment and banking practice in 2007 and transferred to KPMG enterprise as a manager in 2009. She was promoted to senior manager in 2012.
She joined the South African arm of the firm in 2004 and moved to Bermuda after a three-month secondment to the firm’s office in Dublin, Ireland.
She specialises in providing audit services to local clients and her experience covers international financial reporting standards, Canadian accounting standards for private enterprises and not-for-profit organisations and public-sector accounting standards.
She manages a portfolio of island clients covering retail, wholesale and distribution, real estate, charities, public sector, legal services, tourism, shipping, transportation and telecommunications.
Ms Govender is the current treasurer of the Bermuda International Shipping Association.
