Preparation — the key to success
Preparation. The key to achieving success in anything we do is preparation. Not just a half-hearted attempt but a researched, planned, and thoughtful process.
When we use a cautious and detailed planning approach we reduce many of the risks associated with any type of change. Too often we witness the implementation of something new that was not approached in the above fashion, sometimes with very negative results.
Think “New Coke” many years ago or the recent events in Washington where the goal was repeal but insufficient research on options and implications and differing opinions among the participants lead to a continuation of the status quo!
There are many examples but a thoughtful, inclusive and step by step approach most often leads to great results.
Think of examples in your lives where a little more thought would have given you more benefit (and less stress) — we all experience them.
“There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.” — Colin Powell
