Innovator at creative technology sessions
Champion international innovator Peter Corbett will be involved in two live public forums and one private event aimed at local entrepreneurs.
The forums will give an insight into how to start a company from scratch, and learn about marketing that leverages social media, digital advertising, internet-connected devices, and media.
The events will take place on Wednesday, in partnership with the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce and the US Consulate General, and will centre on entrepreneurship and creative technology.
Mr Corbett is the founder and chief executive officer of iStrategyLabs. He will offer advice to entrepreneurs of all ages, starting with a private session at BizCamp 2017. Young entrepreneurs aged 13 - 17 will have the chance to pitch their business ideas and receive valuable tips on how to enhance and accomplish them.
Afterwards, Mr Corbett will visit the INTO Bermuda headquarters for a public workshop aimed at millennial entrepreneurs, which will be broadcast on Facebook Live.
This event is hosted by @Bermemes, and will see Mr Corbett share his secrets to success in the creative technology industry.
A final public session will follow from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at the residence of the US Consul General in Hamilton Parish. This is targeted towards those who are either interested in the creative industries, want to start a new business utilising new technology, or have questions about what is required to take their business to the next level using technology.
Erica Smith, executive director for the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation said: “The BEDC works tirelessly to support the development of a vibrant local entrepreneurial ecosystem.
“Part of that process includes creating opportunities for our local entrepreneurs to benefit from international expertise.
“That is why we are thrilled to be partnering with the US Consulate General and the Chamber to bring Peter to the island and look forward to him sharing his experiences with our local entrepreneurs.”
Korrin Lightbourne, marketing and community outreach coordinator at the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce added: “We are excited to partner with the US Consulate and BEDC to cater to our upcoming generations of local entrepreneurs. Peter Corbett has a wealth of knowledge and experience that we anticipate will further fortify our local network of entrepreneurs.”
