Krebs receives trust industry honour
Randall Krebs, development director of Harbour International Trust Company Ltd, has been awarded a 2017 Step Founder’s Award by the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
The Founder’s Awards are given to members who have made “an exceptional and outstanding long-term contribution to the Society above and beyond that normally expected of a member, through office in their branch, or elsewhere in the voluntary life of the Society”.
Step is the global professional association for practitioners who specialise in family inheritance and succession planning. Full Step members such as Mr Krebs, are known as TEPs and are internationally recognised as experts in their field, with proven qualifications and experience.
In its citation, Step stated: “Randall’s appreciation of business legal issues, in addition to his considerable experience, has been extremely valuable for his branch. A regular speaker at Step and other events, he has conducted numerous educational programmes for trust companies, lawyers and accountants.
“During his time as chairman, Randall oversaw many key initiatives to strengthen the branch, including implementing the Technical and Governance committees, and developing the Step Bermuda Conference into an international event.”
James Gibbons, chairman of Harbour, said: “We are delighted that Randall has been recognised by Step with this award. It reflects not only the high regard in which he is held internationally within the industry but also the exceptional calibre of professionals at the service of our clients.”
Mr Krebs, a private client lawyer who joined Harbour in March 2017, is responsible for the development and maintenance of Harbour’s private client, family office, trust, and corporation administration business.
