Conyers Dill and Pearman is inviting all law students to its Open House next month to network with lawyers and to learn more about the firm and the legal profession in Bermuda.

The event will take place on Wednesday, August 8, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at Conyers’ Richmond House office on Par-la-Ville Road.

“Our lawyers are looking forward to meeting students from a wide variety of campuses and backgrounds at this year’s Open House,” Lisa Spencer-Arscott, global head of human resources, said.

“This is a chance for students to network and to find out more about the opportunities available to them on their path to qualification.”

Conyers offers a number of career-building opportunities for law students, including a summer law programme for those who have completed at least their first year of law school.

This year the firm has taken on 15 law students in two six-week rotations.

Each summer student is paired with a lawyer who acts as their mentor and they are involved in actual client projects such as legal research, due diligence and preparation of legal documents.

In addition, there is a full programme of learning workshops for the students, giving overviews of each of the firm’s practice areas and professional development seminars on subjects such as knowledge management and precedents and, new this year, initial coin offerings and digital asset business.

Those who excel in the summer placement may be offered a pupillage contract once they have completed their law degree, Conyers said.

Students who wish to attend the Open House are asked to RSVP by August 1 to careers@conyersdill.com
