Development course to demystify finance

Business leaders can attend a three-day course designed to help them demystify the world of finance.

The Bermuda branch of the Institute of Directors has organised the course to be held on February 25, 26 and 27.

It is aimed at non-finance professionals and directors at all levels who need to develop an understanding of business finance.

“All directors and staff within a business, company, partnership or charitable organisation should have an understanding of finance in order to contribute to their organisation’s success,” an IoD spokesperson said.

“This course will help to demystify the world of finance, giving business leaders an understanding of key financial concepts and terminology.

“It will also give the skills and knowledge required to assess the financial health of an organisation in the context of its strategic objectives, evaluate business plans with confidence, question financial information and contribute more effectively to boardroom decision making.”

The course is being led by Deborah Morton-Dare, a chartered accountant who specialises in financial and strategic management training for all levels of financial background, from beginners to advanced, and to audiences ranging from SME’s to FTSE 100 board level.

The course counts as the Certificate in Company Direction Module, Finance for Non-Finance Directors.

To register for the course, which costs $2,600 for members and $3,100 for non-members, visit https://tinyurl.com/r4cqnxz
