Ciara Brady: joins the Bermuda office of international law firm Kennedys

Lawyer Ciara Brady has joined the Bermuda office of international law firm Kennedys.

Ms Brady, who joins as a senior associate, enhances Kennedys’ corporate and corporate finance offering in Bermuda, the firm said.

She has extensive experience of advising public and private international and local companies as well as leading financial institutions and funds on a range of corporate, corporate finance and restructuring matters.

Kennedys said she has represented companies from a variety of sectors, including banking, insurance, mining, commodities, pharmaceuticals and financial information and analytics and she has considerable experience working with Bermuda’s regulators. She also has experience operating as the director of legal services for a major global CRO.

Ms Brady was called to the Bermuda Bar in 2009. Prior to joining Kennedys, she spent nearly ten years as a lawyer at Conyers.

Nicholas Miles, partner and head of Kennedys’ corporate department in Bermuda, said: “Ciara is an excellent lawyer who will not only expand our capacity for complex corporate, insurance licensing and corporate finance work, but also complement the firm’s busy insolvency and restructuring team.”

Kennedys currently employs seven lawyers, some of whom are dual-qualified in England and Bermuda, with some also admitted to the Bars of other jurisdictions. The firm’s corporate department advises insurers, insurance intermediaries and investors in the insurance industry as well as banks, CSPs, funds, trust companies and unregulated entities on a broad spectrum of corporate, corporate finance and regulatory matters.

Kennedys said the department is highly regarded for its insurance and reinsurance deal book and its insurance regulatory practice.
