All of Bermuda’s banks have decided to waive ATM fees for Bermuda dollar cash withdrawals for the period of “shelter in place” conditions.
This means that customers of one bank will be able to withdraw cash from the ATM of other banks without financial penalty during the lockdown period.
The news came in a statement from the Bermuda Bankers Association this afternoon.
The BBA added: “Our members will each evaluate the need to continue this practice after the expiration of the current SIP mandate.”
Banks were given special permission by Curtis Dickinson, the finance minister, to open for limited hours on one day per week during the lockdown period.
