Conyers offers gap-year internship
Law firm Conyers is offering a gap-year internship for students who have put their studies on hold for a year as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Student Gap-Year Internship is a six- to eight-month paid programme to support high-potential, recent graduates from local senior schools, or those already enrolled in an undergraduate programme.
Those who are eligible will have put their studies on hold for a year for financial or personal reasons, primarily because of the pandemic.
The programme combines meaningful work experience in some of Conyers’ key business services departments, such as compliance and finance, to give interns an opportunity to gain an understanding of the legal services industry.
Lisa Spencer-Arscott, global head of human resources, said: “Our student programme is core to building the firm’s future talent pipeline. Our primary goal for this programme is to enable students to have an enriching experience to learn about, contribute to and make an impact on our firm’s culture, people and business.”
There are four internships available.
The firm invites applications from Bermudian students enrolled, or deferred, in an associate or undergraduate degree programme starting in either January 2021 or September 2021.
Applicants should have strong computer skills and ability to learn technical applications and processes quickly, a self-starter attitude, ability to organise, prioritise and manage time, and effective oral and written communication skills. Previous corporate office experience is a plus.
