Erica Cathy-Dawn Bassett, daughter of Eric and Cathy Bassett of Hamilton Parish recently represented Bermuda as a delegate in the Miss Caribbean Pageant at Columbia Union College in Takoma Park, Maryland.

Erica, one of the six finalists, chose to portray the strength of Women in Society by executing original elocution. She also performed a piece on violin and a dramatization as part of the requirements.

Erica is currently studing Business/Economics, and is a member of the CUC Women's basketball and soccer teams. She will be entering her sophomore year in the fall.

Devonshire resident earns place on Dean's List at Berklee College of Music.

Berklee College of Music announced that Michele Cottingham of Devonshire has earned placement on the Dean's List for the spring semester of the 2003/2004 academic year. To be eligible for this honour, a full-time student must achieve a grade point average of 3.6 or above.

The Berklee curriculum focuses on practical careeer preparation for today's music industry. Four-year degrees are offered in performance, Jazz Composition, Music Production & Engineeering, Film Scoring, Music Business Management, Composition, Music Synthesis, contemporary Writing & Production, Music Education, Songwriting, Music Therapy, and Professional Music.
