CableVision adds 5 new channels

Music lovers should be delighted to hear that Bermuda CableVision have negotiated the rights to new MTV and VH1 programming.

Four new music channels have been added to the company?s digital cable line up, along with a new children?s channel.

CableVision?s general manager Jeremy Elmas said the company was excited to be able to provide a wider selection of music channels.

The new channels are: MTV Jams ? hip R&B, soul and hip-hop beats, airing on channel 122; MTV Hits ? hot videos plus celebrity guests and gossip, on channel 123; VH1 Soul ? current Soul and R&B hits, on channel 124; and, VH1 Mega Hits, which features current top 20 hits, on channel 125.

The four new channels will provide subscribers with the latest music videos, 24 hours a day.

?We?re excited that we can bring these stations to Bermuda while they?re still relatively new in North America,? said Mr. Elmas.

?It?s been our plan to add more music TV channels, and our customers have been asking for this.

?We?ve selected these particular channels to offer our digital subscribers a wider variety in music programming.?

He said the new channels are now available in St. George?s, Hamilton Parish, Smith?s and Pembroke Parishes.

A fifth new station has also been added ? GAS ? which will have Nickelodeon games and sports programming for children and can be found on channel 126.

?Adding these five new channels takes advantage of our ability to offer a greater number of channels now that we?re digital,? Mr. Elmas said.

?The high picture and sound quality that digital technology provides is a definite plus for this type of programming.?
