CableVision adds channels to premier packages

Bermuda CableVision yesterday added four new channels to its premier packages without increasing fees to subscribers.

?We are continuing to add value for our customers by expanding the selection on two of our most popular digital add-on packages, HBO and Cinemax,? says Alan Smith, assistant general manager of Bermuda CableVision.

?These are sure-to-please selections that appeal to a wide variety of viewers, and we have already had very positive initial customer response to our decision to add these channels.?

Effective immediately, customers who subscribe to the HBO Tier at $14 per month will now receive three additional channels for no extra fee: HBO Family, HBO Signature and HBO Latino.

?HBO Signature? on channel 302 is geared to appeal to ?today?s sophisticated woman?, and includes a mix of HBO original movies and hit theatrical movies, documentaries and HBO original series.

?HBO Family? on channel 303 is targeted at family viewers of all ages. From 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. HBO Family offers educational and original series for pre-schoolers and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., it offers predominantly G-rated and PG-rated movies After 3 p.m., PG-13 movies aimed at older children and teenagers are added to the mix. The nightly movie at 8 p.m. is aimed at the entire family. The feature movie for August is ?Shark Tale?, and in September it will be ?Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.? From 9.30 p.m. until 7 a.m. HBO Family features movies and specials with a more mature feel, targeted toward adults who prefer programming without objectionable content.

?HBO Latino? on channel 304 is a dedicated Spanish-language channel that features Spanish-language movies and documentaries, music videos, and original short-form programming that spotlights entertainment and cultural issues relevant to Latino audiences. On weekends, viewers can catch the late-night fight series.

Added to the Cinemax Tier at no additional cost to customers is Action MAX channel 312 which offers a range of action movies, from broad-appeal blockbusters to westerns, war movies and rare martial arts films and foreign films.

While the majority of programming on HBO Signature, HBO Family, HBO Latino and Action MAX will air as scheduled, some programming will be blacked out as the rights to this programming do not extend outside of the US.
