Caisey family to present Marley tribute

The extended Caisey family is never short of talent or ideas, and on Saturday, May 8 they will combine both to present a tribute in commemoration of the life of the late Jamaican reggae icon, Bob Marley, whose birth date is May 11.

The concert will take place at Pembroke Sunday School hall (behind St. John's Church) at 8 p.m., and will feature singers Phiemma, Desta (Zion), Albert, Clinton, and Taur Caisey, as well as tap dancer Mitchell (Livewire) Trott. Music will be by the Caisey Family Band consisting of: Derek Simmons (guitar), Darius Richardson (drums), Michael Payne (saxophone), John Lee (bass) and James Richardson (keyboards).

While seating will be provided, the venue has also been chosen to allow plenty of space for dancing to Marley's irresistible music.

Tickets ($20) are available from Kit 'n' Caboodle, and proceeds from this special concert will go towards the cost of tuition for aspiring musician/singer/songwriter Desta/Zion Caisey, who has been accepted into an intense guitar workshop this summer at the prestigious Berklee School of Music in the US ? something he hopes will be a stepping stone to full-time studies.
