Children?s charity needs some big help
Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Bermuda need your help in matching up several children with older "brothers and sisters".
A special recruitment drive, complete with television, radio and newspaper advertisements, starts on Monday - thanks to sponsorship by amongst others, The Ross Blackie Talbot Charity and the End to End Committee.
Executive Director of Big Brother & Big Sister, Esme Williams said yesterday that the campaign was seen as a means to reach out and touch the hearts of the adult community in Bermuda.
"We want to create an awareness of our need for more volunteers to make a big difference for our organisation. At present we have several unmatched little brothers and sisters who need mentors to assist them on their journey," she said.
She said they also hoped to expand the programme to include a greater percentage of single-parent homes in Bermuda and a wider variety of children to be served.
The organisation has also been offered a free billboard at Bermuda International Airport by Evoke International Ltd.
