Get ready for the Rubber Ducky Derby
Friends of Hospice, together with the Bermuda Electric Light Company, have launched the sixth annual Rubber Ducky Derby.
The Duck Derby is being held on Sunday, June 2 on Ordnance Island in St. George's and the major sponsor for the event once again is Belco who have kindly sponsored the Rubber Duck Derby since its inception in 1997. The event is Agape House's major fundraiser for the year and their goal for 2002 is $90,000.
Activities start at 1 p.m. with entertainment, fun family games, face painting and food stalls, including baked goods. The corporate race will be the first race of the day starting at 3 p.m., followed by the youth, `pamper me' and family races.
Rubber Duck Derby adoption forms are available at Agape House, Otto Wurz Secrets, Washington Mall Magazines and all Belco locations or by calling Friends of Hospice at 232-0859.
Chairman of Friends of Hospice, Robert Caldwell, said: "We are excited about our family of ducks arriving on the Island and we look forward to everyone participating in the duck sightings."
