Gregory Isaacs? no show doesn?t dampen spirits

Under the mega tent it was warm and snugly, but outside of the confines cold droplets of rain wet all and sundry.

Local acts Twan?e Butterfield, Ali and Jahstice Reggae Movement Band warmed up the audience for the international acts at the White Tiger Promotions/Global M2P2 Promotions 4 Bermuda by Bermuda concert at Clearwater Beach on Saturday night. There was a lull after Jahstice left the stage, as there was technical difficulty that lasted for the better part of an hour.

But once things were back on track, Leo Tan, the Holland act, came on and then Junior Lion with his hit tune Love Is the Only. Queen Ifrica donned in a red, gold, green and white turban sang a mixture of favourites, much to the audiences delight.

The singer, who has been referred to as a raging lioness, is famous for songs like Overtime, Red Cross, Redeemed, Reign, Randy and No Love Again. The audience clearly loving her engaging style.

Immediately after her, Tony Rebel a.k.a Patrick Barrett worked the audience over with his hits. His music as always conveys positive themes and he wowed the audience with versions of If Jah Is By My Side in Spanish, French and English.

Tony Rebel was followed by Baska Max and I-Wayne closed the night out at about 4 a.m.

Everything went well aside for the absence of Gregory Isaacs, who was initially on the bill but organisers were unable to acquire him an American or Canadian visa. All in all as the organisers said, it was a night full of entertainment for reggae fans.
